San Francisco Approves YEO’s Free College Plan

July 14, 2016

San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors voted overwhelmingly in favor to allow residents and municipal employees free access to the City College of San Francisco. Supervisor Jane Kim’s resolution will scrap tuition fees and direct grants to help low-income students cover textbooks and other educational costs. “City College is one of the last affordable opportunities in our region to obtain the education that is absolutely critical to allow for upwards job mobility,” Kim said.
