August 28, 2017

On Thursday August 24th, Nebraska state legislator Adam Morfeld passed into law resolution LB 487 which provides limited immunity from drug possession charges for people who are seeking medical assistance because of a drug overdose. The law applies to both the person experiencing the drug overdose and the people requesting medical assistance for them.

Representative Morfeld said that he “introduced this legislation because in 2015 over 52,000 Americans died of a drug overdose.”
