Held December 4, 2007
Presenters:
Kari Chisholm, President, Mandate Media
Adams Klaus, Politics 2.0 Manager, Credo Mobile
Technology is changing the way the world works- including campaigns and how elected officials communicate. As the young generation promising to bring progressive change, YEOs must take advantage of these resources and adapt to technological changes to increase their ability to effectively communicate with their constituents.
Vermont State Representative Rachel Weston led the call, which included Kari Chisholm, President of Mandate Media and Adam Klaus, Politics 2.0 Manager of Credo Mobile, formerly Working Assets.
Kari Chisholm presented on the advancement of technology and management systems. Chisholm spoke on several topics regarding ways to communicate, the impact of various communications technology, and how to maximize the latest communication technology. He reiterated the importance of content in communication and the use of a management system.
Adam Klaus of Credo Mobile spoke about online voter registration and text messaging. He explained the effectiveness of online voting and how to use widgets on a web site. The second portion of the presentation was on text messaging. Information was given about an in-depth survey conducted by Credo Mobile and others about voter mobilization using text messages and how effected it was.
