FLLA Class of 2008

FLLA 2008

Congratulations to the most recent graduating class of Front Line Leaders Academy!

FLLA Class of 2008

The FLLA Class of 2008 was the most diverse and community-minded class of fellows our program has seen. They were chosen to participate in this intense eight-month curriculum because they demonstrated the potential and desire to some day run for office or take on a leadership role within a campaign and in their varied communities.

Each learning circle of the Front Line Leaders Academy focused on the various aspects of campaigns– candidacy, campaign management, field strategy, fundraising, and communications. In their final conference, fellows supplemented their training with requested sessions, engaged in their final project campaign simulation that tested the skills they learned while in the program, and prepared to launch into the next phase of their progressive careers.

The FLLA Class of 2008 campaigns raised more money that any other class, with the first team ever reaching the program fundraising limits. In addition, this year’s campaigns raised the bar on campaign efforts, showing innovative approaches in messaging, collateral and field strategy. In the end, the electorate elected their first non-YP4 Youth Ambassador, a candidate with a well fought and sophisticated campaign.

As young leaders across the country prepare to run for office and lead campaigns, FLLA Fellows are equipped with the skills they need to be successful and contribute to the progressive movement and to the success of this country. They are sure to lead in the “American way.”
